emulator.ca is my love letter to the BBS era, rebuilt in the browser. It boots you through a simulated 300-baud modem — handshake squeal and all — and dials into a fictional bulletin board system, complete with the satisfying crawl of text arriving one character at a time.

I packed in a little world to explore: classic text adventures like Zork, vintage programming environments (BASIC, Forth, Logo) you can actually type into, and a handful of retro games. It’s part nostalgia trip, part interactive museum piece — and it all runs client-side, so dialing in is instant despite the deliberately slow modem theatrics.
